The GrassFlap® brand chute blocker is the ideal OCDC, operator controlled discharge chute. The foot-operation allows the user to close the discharge chute at any time, any place without taking their hands off the mower€™s controls. The chute blocker plate opens a full 180 degrees and completely clears the edge of the mower to allow the mower to fit in those tight spaces. The GrassFlap® brand chute blocker fits most zero-turn mowers.

What's Included
The kit includes everything needed to install and operate the GrassFlap® brand chute blocker.

- 2-piece steel and heavy-duty plastic flap assembly to mount to discharge opening
- 6 Pedal (10-99-13)
- 70" cable (10-99-07)
- Mounting hardware for installation
The 6 Pedal has the cable exit out the rear of the pedal.
Installation
Assembly is required, including drilling holes in mower deck and operator foot deck to install. Modification to blocker plate size and shape may be required for best fit on some mowers.
Took longer than I thought it would to install, but after I got it installed and used the grass flap I must say well worth my time and money.
Not really sure how we have gotten this far without this on our mowers. This guard works really well. So much easier than reaching down to open and close the chute with your hand or foot.
Installed on a Scag SWZT 36". Fits and functions perfectly. I had to heat up and bend blocker plate to contour to curved deck. I trimmed it down enough so that the flap doesn't protrude and add to the width of the mower when the flap is up. I haven't used it in the field as of now, but it functions perfectly. The assembly came with one defective cotter pin. I emailed them and they sent out a replacement immediately. I have zero complaints.

Yes, I did have to bend the flap to cover the chute opening, but it worked out great.
Very great product. Did take a bit of time to install but that was because my deck was curved and I wanted it to have a snug fit. Would highly recommend. Very heavy duty.

I have a new Scag SWZT 36. This is the only ocdc that will work for it. I also ordered the quick mount bracket. It said it would work. Long story short, the bracket would not work. I called the phone number and actually FaceTime with the owner. He said that one of the openings in the regular bracket would slip over a raised piece in the deck but it wouldn't. The slot in the grass flap was too small. So, time to figure it out on my own. I've owned a lot of mowers and put on a lot of chute blockers so not much of a hassle. I would have given it 3 stars but since the owner actually answered the phone I will give it 4

Just purchased my second grass flap for another mower. This is by far the best one. Easy hands free operation. Super easy to install.
I have one on my Scag SWZT 36 and it's great if you don't have a velke or while standing on one but if you have the velke hanging, you have to pause for a second to get your foot in there to use the pedal.
The grass flap is well made,. Although it came and missing a spring for the the pedal, I bought this item to replace my scag block plate. My scag has the hurricane mulching kit on it. With the block from scag I would not have any clumping. The grass flap creates a continuous line of clumping from the discharge chute.

The unit you purchased comes with an RE pedal which does not include a spring, The SE and SEL pedal which are detailed on page 7 of the installation guide do include a spring, the RE pedal is on page 9. Sorry for the confusion.
Regarding the trail of grass with the flap closed. This is normal when the flap is closed for a long period. The GrassFlap does not include the baffles that are required for a true mulching kit. Without the baffles to hold the clippings around the blade they are free to travel to the discharge opening where they collect until the flap is opened and they are allowed to escape. The trail is due to the amount of clippings that have collected, the longer closed the more clippings that accumulate and eventually begin leaking out.
There are several ways to minimize the windrow of clippings. Only fully close the flap for short periods, if you must close it try to discharge into uncut grass so you can disperse the clippings on the next pass.
I bought the grassflap for my scag SWZT 36 walk behind. I entered the info for my mower and ordered the suggested items. When I received the grassflap I realized that it did not fit my mower correctly because there was not enough clearance for the spring. I ended up having to modify the grassflap in order to make it fit. It took me 7 hours to install it, the poor vague instructions did not help matters. Also, on a $300 chute blocker. The rubber should be cut and formed to your specific mower right out of the box. Overall, was not satisfied with this purchase and would not recommend buying it if you are not a extremely handy person.
Excellent service and product with very prompt delivery. I purchased my SCAG for my own home yard. I'm not a landscaper, so while installing the GrassFlap wasn't difficult, I did get excellent help via FaceTime from Dave when I did get stuck. If I was more mechanically inclined, I most likely would not have needed help. The GrassFlap was a great addition to my mower. Having the option to open and close the chute on the fly is great and it works perfectly. Highly recommend!
Best product money came by, cuts down on each property that I don't have to clean out the garden beds
The product concept itself works great. I think that the chute block material and mount plate should come pre-formed for your specific mower. I did not have the right equipment to heat the material, so I had to go out and spend more money. Once I finally got it heated up and the mount plate bent (3 attempts), it doesn't seal off like I think it should. A product that requires the consumer to fit and install it, runs the risk of the consumer messing it up or not being completely happy with the fit. The instruction book could've been a little more descriptive.

Love the grass flap it really helps keep my mulch beds and buildings clean. Saves a lot of blow off time and also a must have for commercial mowing jobs around people and cars.
